I was able to draw a line around the whole screen with no breaks. The touch screens works perfectly as far as I can tell. There's too many other people out there with similar issues for it to be isolated to me.

How could LG resolve this with a supposed software update just for it to happen again? UGH. Thinking a reset without downloading or updating any apps might reveal an error with an app.
I just can't figure out what software they would have updated? I've tried multiple factory resets as well. Especially since they sent the repair note saying "outdated software, updated software". The fact that knock on died a slow death twice, now leads me to believe it's software not hardware related. My 12 year old plays with it all the time as well and it's no different. Hell, knock OFF works beautifully! I'm not a noob to technology either. Hard, soft, slow, fast, multiple taps, locations, I've tried it all. Was the CSR correct? Will a call to Sprint potentially get this resolved or a new phone?Īs for how you tap/knock the device, it has no effect. That's what prompted me to contact LG and send the device to them for repair. They told me they could look at it but since I purchased through Amazon I would need to deal with them or LG directly for repairs/replacement. I originally took the phone to a local Sprint authorized store when I first had the knock on issue. I purchased the device from Amazon as a contract phone. I would send it in again if I knew they would fix it but it seems LG has their head up be getting rid of the G2 in the next few months if they can't figure it out. Currently it works around 50% of the time but seems to be getting worse. Seems to be a similar issue with warming but not as consistent. A few days later and knock on seems to be dying a slow death again. I updated to 4.4.2 the night I received the phone back and all was still fine. When I sent the phone in it was on 4.2 and was still on 4.2 when I received it back. WTH this means I couldn't tell you but knock on was working for the most part.

My phone does not have an over heating issue at all. It seemed the phone would knock on fine when cold but if it was even a little warm (not hot by any means just warm) it wouldn't work at all. Then one day knock on would only work occasionally. I purchased my Sprint model in January and all was fine for a little more than a month. Knock off works fine but knock on currently works ~10% of the time.
